Steering System - Electronic Power: Testing: Self-Diagnostics: Notes

NOTE: Perform a thorough visual inspection of all components before entering self-diagnostics.

Turn ignition off. Set analog voltmeter to 15-volt scale. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to Yellow/Green wire terminal of 3-wire test connector, located in left rear corner of engine compartment. Connect negative voltmeter lead to Black wire terminal. See Fig 1 . Monitor 4.4-volt pulses of voltmeter needle under the following conditions. Each pulse pattern is separated by a 10-second pause.

NOTE: Turn ignition off between each condition test to reset control unit. Failure to do so will result in false diagnosis.
