Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag system and deactivate audio anti-theft system, if equipped.
2. Remove steering wheel as previously outlined.
3. Remove combination switch.
4. Remove upper steering column from vehicle.
5. Secure steering shaft in a vise.
6. Using a chisel, slot the heads of the steering lock mounting bolts.
7. Using a screwdriver, remove bolts.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new steering lock mounting bolts with break off heads, then tighten bolts until heads snap off.
