System Inoperative Using Transmitter

  1. Remove transmitter battery. Measure voltage across transmitter battery terminals. If at least 2.8 volts are not present, replace transmitter battery. If voltage is okay, install transmitter battery to charge transmitter. Wait at least 5 seconds. Remove transmitter battery.
  2. Measure voltage across transmitter terminals (not battery terminals). If at least 2.8 volts are not present, replace transmitter. If voltage is okay, measure voltage across transmitter terminals while pressing LOCK or UNLOCK switch. If 1.2 volts are not present, replace transmitter.
  3. If voltage is okay, install transmitter battery. Check 15-amp ROOM fuse. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and/or repair wiring as necessary. If fuse is okay, measure voltage at Blue/Red wire terminal of door lock timer unit connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair wiring.
  4. If battery voltage is present, check door lock timer unit ground circuit (Black/Red wire). If ground circuit is faulty, repair as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, connect door lock timer unit connector. Measure voltage at Blue, Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals of door lock timer unit connector.
  5. If 5 volts is not present, check door lock timer unit. See DOOR LOCK TIMER UNIT under COMPONENT TESTING. If 5 volts is present, measure voltage at the following terminals of keyless unit connectors:
    • Blue and Brown wire terminals (front keyless unit)
    • Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals (rear keyless unit).
  6. If 5 volts is not present, repair wiring. If 5 volts is present, check front and rear keyless unit ground circuits (Black/Red wires). If ground circuits are faulty, repair as necessary. If ground circuits are okay, replace front and/or rear keyless unit(s).
