Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Detects changes in barometric pressure corresponding to changes in altitude from sea level. Changes are converted to an electrical signal and utilized by the PCME primarily in its calculations of fuel injection quantity, ignition timing, idle speed and purge control.
