Relay Box (Fail-Safe Relay Resistance Test)

  1. Measure resistance between terminals "C" (Black/Blue wire) and "D" (Black/White wire) of relay box connector. Resistance should be 60-100 ohms. Replace relay box if resistance is not as specified. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
  2. Ensure continuity exists between relay box connector terminal "A" (Black wire) and terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire). Ensure continuity does not exist between terminal "B" (Blue/Red wire) and terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire). Replace relay box if it does not test as specified. If relay box tests okay, go to next step.
  3. Apply 12 volts to terminal "D" (Black/White wire) and ground terminal "C" (Black/Blue wire). Ensure continuity exists between terminal "B" (Blue/Red wire) and terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire). Ensure continuity does not exist between terminal "A" (Black wire) and terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire). Replace relay box if it does not test as specified.
