A/C Signal: Testing and Inspection

SYSTEM INSPECTION

1. Turn ignition ON.
2. Turn blower switch and A/C sensor ON.
3. Start engine. Verify that A/C stops for approximately 2 seconds after engine start.
4. Rotate throttle to fully open position.
5. Verify that A/C stops for approximately 5 seconds after throttle reaches fully open.
6. If not as specified, inspect PCME terminal 1Q voltage, A/C relay, and throttle position sensor.

A/C RELAY

A/C Relay Testing:

1. Remove relay. Check continuity between terminals C and D.
2. With battery voltage applied across terminals A and B, there should be continuity between terminals C and D.
3. With no battery voltage applied across terminals A and B, there should be no continuity between terminals C and D.
4. If not as specified, replace A/C relay.
