EGR Valve Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Purpose
Detects EGR valve movement and signals powertrain control module engine (PCME). Used to determine if EGR valve and system are functioning.

Operation
Switch is either "ON" (shows continuity) or "OFF" (no continuity) depending on vacuum to EGR valve. PCME determines if EGR system is operating based on switch input.
