Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Continuity: Inspection

  1. Turn ignition off. Ensure throttle valve is in closed position. Disconnect TP sensor connector. Check for continuity between terminals "C" and "D" of TP sensor connector. Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, adjust TP sensor.
  2. Insert a feeler gauge of specified thickness between throttle lever and throttle stop screw. See TP SENSOR CONTINUITY table. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "C" and "D" of TP sensor connector. If continuity is not as specified, adjust TP sensor.
