Transaxle Range Switch

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fresh-air duct and air cleaner component. See Fig 1 . Remove splash shield. Remove the clip and disconnect the selector cable from the manual selector lever. See Fig 2 .
  2. Rotate the manual selector lever to the converter housing side fully, returning 2 notches to set Neutral position. Disconnect Transmission Range (TR) switch harness connector. Loosen TR switch mounting bolts at transaxle.
  3. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "B" and "H" at TR switch (component side). See Fig 3 . Adjust switch until continuity exists. Tighten TR switch mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Verify TR switch and manual selector lever range position are aligned. Connect TR switch harness connector, and selector cable. Install the selector cable clip and install selector cable to manual selector lever. Install splash shield. Install air cleaner assembly. Connect negative battery cable.
