Checking Fluid Level: Transaxle

  1. Drive vehicle for about 20 miles or until it reaches normal operating temperature. Park vehicle on level surface and apply parking brake. With vehicle on level ground and your foot on the brake pedal, start the engine and move gearshift lever through all ranges, ending in Park.
  2. Allow sufficient time for each gear to engage. Place gearshift lever in Park position and leave engine idling. Remove dipstick and wipe it off with a lint free cloth. Fully insert the dipstick into filler tube, ensuring it is fully seated.
  3. Remove the dipstick and check level. Fluid level should be in the middle of the crosshatched area of dipstick. Add fluid as necessary. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  . DO NOT overfill. Check condition of fluid for contamination and burned smell. Ensure dipstick is fully installed.
