Detection Condition

PCM monitors Short Term Fuel Trim (SHTFT) and Long Term Fuel Trim (LONGFT) values when monitoring conditions are met or during Drive Mode 1. If fuel trim exceeds preprogrammed criteria, PCM determines fuel system is too lean and DTC is set. This is a continuous monitor. MIL illuminates if PCM detects malfunction in 2 consecutive drive cycles.
