Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

THREE-WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the downstream oxygen sensor connector.
3. Remove the downstream oxygen sensor.
4. Remove the muffler and tailpipe.
5. Remove the nuts.

Note:
^ The exhaust hanger bracket insulators can be reused if they show no signs of damage.

6. Remove the three way catalytic converter and the exhaust outlet pipe frame brackets.
7. Install the exhaust inlet pipe gasket, the three-way catalytic converter and the exhaust outlet pipe frame brackets.
8. Install the nuts.
Tightening torque 34 - 46 Nm (3.5 - 4.69 kgf-cm, 25 - 34 ft. lbs.)
9. Install the muffler and tailpipe.
10. Lower the vehicle.
