PINPOINT TEST 1 - MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO DIAGNOSTIC TOOL - SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB)

PINPOINT TEST 1		MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL - SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB)
STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK THE SJB CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE Key OFF. Disconnect SJB J-2280d. Inspect the SJB J-2280d connector for damage. Is the SJB J-2280d connector OK?	Yes	Go to step 2
1		No	Repair the SJB J-2280d connector. Carry out the data link diagnostics test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST .
2	CHECK ISO COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT LB/W BETWEEN THE DLC D-01 AND THE SJB J-2280d FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the DLC D-01 pin 7, circuit LB/W, harness side and the SJB J-2280d pin 7, circuit LB/W, harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?	Yes	Go to step 3.
2		No	Repair the circuit. Carry out the data link diagnostics test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST .
3	CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Key ON. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Replace the SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Carry out the data link diagnostics test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST .
3		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. Carry out the data link diagnostics test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST .
