DTC P0123 DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0123 TP sensor No. 1 circuit high input
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • If the PCM detects the TP sensor voltage at PCM terminal 2M is above 4.85 V  while the engine is running, the PCM determines that the TP circuit has malfunction.
  • Diagnostic support note 

  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • TP sensor malfunction
  • Connector or terminal malfunction
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between TP sensor terminal D and PCM terminal 2O
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between TP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 2M
  • Short to constant voltage supply circuit in wiring harness between TP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 2M
