Oil Filter Replacement - 2.3L
- Remove the oil filter.
- Remove insert if necessary. The insert is not normally removed for replacing filter.
- Use a clean rag to wipe off the mounting surface of the oil filter.
- Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the oil gasket of the oil filter.
- Install insert.NOTE:
- Do not tighten with oil filter wrench as that will make it difficult to remove.
Tightening torque
28 - 35 N.m {2.8 - 3.5 kgf.m, 21 - 26 ft.lbf}
- Install the oil filter and tighten it by hand until the oil gasket contacts the mounting base.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
- Check oil level and add if necessary.
