DTC P0462 (MZI-3.5) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0462 Fuel gauge sender unit circuit low input
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • The PCM monitors the fuel level input communications network message for a concern. The test fails if the fuel level input signal is less than the minimum allowable calibrated parameter for a specified fuel-fill percentage in the fuel tank.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Empty fuel tank
  • Fuel pump malfunction
  • Incorrectly installed fuel gauge
  • Instrument cluster malfunction
  • Fuel gauge malfunction
  • Fuel level input signal circuit malfunction
