Clutch Switch: Testing and Inspection

CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION (CPP) SWITCH INSPECTION[L3 WITH TC]

NOTE: Perform the following inspection only when directed.

Continuity Inspection
1. Verify that the clutch switch is installed properly.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the clutch switch.




4. Inspect for continuity between the clutch switch terminals using a tester.
- If the clutch switch is normal, but PID value is out of specification, perform the "Circuit Open Short Inspection".
- If not as specified, replace the clutch switch.

Circuit Open/short Inspection




1. Disconnect the PCM connector.
2. Inspect the following harnesses for an open or short circuit. (Continuity check)

Open circuit
- It there is no continuity, there is an open circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
- Clutch switch terminal A and PCM terminal 1H
- Clutch switch terminal B and body ground

Short circuit
- If there is continuity, there is a short circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
- Clutch switch terminal B and power supply
- Clutch switch terminal B and body ground
