Instruments - Fuel Gauge Won't Read Full After Refueling: Overview

Bulletin No.: 09-044/09

Last Issue: 08/07/2009

Subject:
FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT INDICATE FULL JUST AFTER REFUELING

APPLICABLE MODEL(S) / VINS
2009 MAZDA6

DESCRIPTION

On some vehicles, the fuel gauge does not indicate full (F) after refueling. This is especially true when only a small amount of fuel is added to the fuel tank while the fuel gauge is near "F".

When the fuel tank is nearly full, the fuel gauge specification is designed so that if a small amount of fuel is added (less than 1.3 gallons), it does not register.
