Resistance inspection

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the front under cover No. 1. (See FRONT UNDER COVER NO. 1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  4. Disconnect the ECT sensor No. 2 connector. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the ECT sensor No. 2. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Place the ECT sensor No. 2 in water with a thermometer, and heat the water gradually.
  7. Measure the resistance between ECT sensor No. 2 terminals A and B.
    • If not as specified, replace the ECT sensor No. 2. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
