Hood Latch Switch Inspection

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts;
    1. Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Intake air guide (See INTAKE AIR GUIDE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Front combination light (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Shroud upper member (See SHROUD UPPER MEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Crash zone sensor cover (See CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (See CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
  3. Disconnect the hood latch switch connector. (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.
    NOTE:
    • Inspect the continuity when the hood is open and closed.

    • If the operation as indicated in the table cannot be verified, replace the hood latch.
