Shift-Lock System Inspection

Switch the ignition ON.
Shift the selector lever to the P position.
Inspect the shift-lock system as follows:
- If there is any malfunction, replace the shift-lock solenoid. (See SHIFT-LOCK SOLENOID INSPECTION .)
  1. Verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted to the R from P position when the brake pedal is not depressed.
  2. Verify that the selector lever can be shifted to the R from P position when the brake pedal is depressed.
