Liftgate/Power Liftgate (PLG) Latch Switch Inspection
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Liftgate upper trim (Refer to LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate side trim (Refer to LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate recess cover (Refer to LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (With power liftgate (PLG) system) (Refer to POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate lower trim (Refer to LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate latch and lock actuator (Refer to LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate latch and lock actuator. (Refer to LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.Fig 1: Liftgate/Power Liftgate (PLG) Latch Switch Terminal Continuity Chart - Without Power Liftgate (PLG) System

- If not as indicated in the table, replace the liftgate latch and lock actuator. (Refer to LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
NOTE:- When inspecting the latch condition of the liftgate latch switch, press in the latch lever using a flathead screwdriver and set it to the latched position.
