July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Resistance Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Mazda 6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the intake manifold. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the KS connector.
  5. Remove the KS. (See KNOCK SENSOR (KS) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Measure the resistance between KS terminals A and B.

    Specification 

    504-616 kilohms [10-30 °C {50-86 °F}]
