DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P0236:00 Boost pressure sensor circuit range/performance problem
DETECTION CONDITION
  • With the following conditions met, a condition has continued for 3.2 s in which the change in fuel temperature after engine start is less than 1 °C {2 °F}.

    MONITORING CONDITIONS

    • Battery voltage: 8 V or more
    • Ignition switched ON (engine on)
    • Engine coolant temperature after engine start: -25-60 °C {-13-140 °F}
    • Elapsed time after engine start: 108 to 839 s
    • Travel time after engine start at vehicle speed of 3 km/h {2 mph} or less: 26 s or more
    • Travel time after engine start at vehicle speed of 25 km/h {16 mph} or more: 60 s or more
    • The following DTCs are not detected:
  • ECT sensor No. 1: P0117:00, P0118:00
  • Boost pressure sensor: P0237:00, P0238:00
    • VSS: P0500:00

    Diagnostic support note

  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
