Active Air Shutter Inspection
NOTE:
- The integrity of the active air shutter cannot be determined from a single part. When inspecting the active air shutter, perform the following procedure.
- Fully open/closed position learning needs to be completed to perform active air shutter simulation.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Drive the vehicle at 10 km/h (6.3 mph) or faster to complete fully open/closed position learning of active air shutter.
- Display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_CAL_STAT] to confirm fully open/closed position learning is completed. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .)
- Display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] and the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] using the M-MDS. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION
.)
(See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (VIN Y)] .)
- Verify that the PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] value changes according to the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] value when the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] is driven from 0 degrees to the maximum value.
- If it cannot be verified, replace the active air shutter. (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
