Remote Handle Lever Removal/Installation

  1. Open the trunk lid.
  2. Fold the rear seat back.
  3. Insert the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the remote handle lever tab from the body panel.

  4. Move the remote handle lever in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure, and remove the remote handle lever by pulling the remote handle lever hook from the body panel.
  5. Remove the clip.
  6. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  7. Remove the following parts:
    1. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear seat back (See REAR SEAT BACK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Rear package trim (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  8. Disconnect the cable from the rear seat back latch.

  9. Remove the remote handle lever while pulling the cable out.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
