Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

U2401-00: (VCM) TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF ANY MODULE STORES DTC U2400-00: 
  • Switch the ignition off/main power OFF.
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on)/main power ON (READY off or on).
  • Perform the quick check. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is DTC U2400-00: stored in any module?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See U2400-00: [EPS] .)
(See U2400-00: [DSC] .)
(See U2400-00: [SAS] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) FOR INTERNAL MALFUNCTION 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).

    (See DTC INSPECTION .)

  • Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No Go to the next step.
3 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF NON-GENUINE ELECTRICAL DEVICE IS INSTALLED 
  • Verify the non-genuine electrical device installation condition.
  • Is a non-genuine electrical device installed?
Yes Remove the non-genuine electrical device and perform the repair completion verification 1.
No Go to the next step.
4 PURPOSE: DETERMINE MODULE SENDING MALFUNCTION  Yes Replace the module that no longer displays DTC U2401-00: when removed and perform the repair completion verification 1.

(Refer to SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA/ISRAEL SPEC.] in service information.)
(Refer to [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in service information.)
(Refer to DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
No Replace the body control module (BCM) and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1 PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Switch the ignition off/main power OFF.
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on)/main power ON (READY off or on).
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).

  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED 
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
