U2031-46: (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Front radar sensor calibration data parameter error
Detection condition Determination conditions
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the front radar sensor received error calibration data from the vehicle control module (VCM).
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects a front radar sensor internal malfunction.
Preconditions
  • Not applicable
Malfunction determination period
  • Not applicable
Fail-safe (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
  • Not applicable
Possible cause
NOTE:
  • Depending on the module, after the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) or off/main power is switched ON (READY off or on) or OFF, there is a module that needs 30 s to correctly write the calibration data and configuration data.
  • Calibration error after front radar sensor replacement
  • Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules.
    • Vehicle control module (VCM)
    • Body control module (BCM)
  • DTCs are stored in the front radar sensor.
  • Communication error in CAN communication circuit between vehicle control module (VCM) and front radar sensor
  • Front radar sensor malfunction
  • Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM))
