Diagnostic Procedure

ABS OR TCS OPERATES FREQUENTLY/TCS DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY (DSC) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY RELATED MODULE DTCs 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the following modules. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
    • PCM
    • DSC HU/CM
  • Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)] .)
(See DTC TABLE [DSC] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY TIRE CONDITION 
  • Verify the tire pressure and specifications of the tire.
  • Are the tire pressure and specifications of the tire normal? (Refer to WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATION in service information.)
Yes Go to the next step.
No Adjust the tire pressure or replace with a specified tire and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(1)3 VERIFY ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Refer to Action for Non-repeatable Malfunction to find the malfunctioning location.

No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
(Refer to REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes Complete the symptom troubleshooting. Explain repair contents to customer.
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
  • When performing an asterisked
    (1) troubleshooting inspection, first verify the damage and connection status of the connectors and terminals, then perform the inspection while shaking the wiring harness (cause of malfunction may be due to poor connection of connectors, terminals, or wiring harness). If there is a malfunction in the connectors or terminals, securely connect, repair, or perform replacement.
