DTC U0131-00: Can Communication System: Communication Error To EPS Control Module

U0131:00 (PCM - VIN M) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	CAN communication system: Communication error to EPS control module
Detection condition	Communication error between the PCM and EPS control module continues for a specified period of time.
Fail-safe	Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
Possible cause	Malfunction in CAN communication line between EPS control module and PCM NOTE: Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for the multiplex communication system. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .) EPS control module malfunction (Refer to STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.) PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN M) in the service information.)
