COMPONENT OPERATIONS

Component No. Refer to
1 Positive terminal
2 Positive cable
3 Negative terminal
4 Negative cable
CAUTION:
  • Because the sub-battery is a sealed, maintenance-free battery, quick charging may result in damage to the sub-battery.
  1. Switch the ignition OFF/switch the main power OFF and after 30 min or more have elapsed, measure the voltage at the sub-battery terminal and determine the sub-battery charging time from the table.
    MEASURED VALUE SPECIFICATION

    Measured value (sub-battery temperature: 20 4dgC {68 4dgF}) Charging time (minutes)
    12.8 V or more 100
    12.6 V or more 120
    12.4 V or more 150
    12.2 V or more 180
    12.0 V or more 200
    Less than 12.0 V 260
  2. Connect the charger to the sub-battery and adjust the charge current as follows.
    • Charging current: 2 A
  3. Verify that the sub-battery terminal voltage is the standard or more after 30 min or more have elapsed since the charging stopped.

    Standard voltage

    • 12.8 V or more
  4. Secure the sub-battery to the vehicle and connect the positive and negative cables.
  5. Display PID [BATT_2_SOH_VOLT] using the M-MDS.
  6. Verify that the PID [BATT_2_SOH_VOLT] value is as specified.

    Standard voltage

    • 11.5 V or more
