Second-Row Buckle Removal/Installation [001]: Notes

WARNING:
  • If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the second-row seat, it may move unexpectedly while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the second-row seat, try moving it back and forth to verify that the sliding mechanism on both sides are locked.
CAUTION:
  • After the second-row seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the second-row seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a second-row seat, do not operate the slider lever.
  • Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a second-row seat.
  • When performing the procedure with a second-row seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
NOTE:
  • The second-row buckle is integrated with the second-row seat.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the cover and bolts.

    TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    Step Part name
    1 Cover
    (See Cover removal note  .)
    -
    2 Bolt 45 N.m {4.6 kgf.m, 33.3 ft.lbf}
  3. Using the slider lever, move the second-row seat to a position where the cover can be removed.
  4. Remove the cover and bolts.

    TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    3 Bolt 45 N.m {4.6 kgf.m, 33.3 ft.lbf}
  5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Perform the power Liftgate (PLG) initialization procedure. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
  8. Initialize power outer mirror retract/return function. (See POWER OUTER MIRROR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
