Fuel Injection System - BOSCH Cis-E: Description
The CIS-E fuel injection system is mechanically and electronically controlled. It uses the basic CIS mechanical system for injection, with electronically controlled correction functions.
The mechanical portion of the CIS-E system consists of a mixture control unit (air-flow sensor and fuel distributor), control pressure regulator, auxiliary air valve, cold start valve, throttle body, injector nozzles, fuel pump and filter.
The CIS-E system will still provide adequate operation during electronic control unit (ECU) malfunction. The system also has over-voltage protection for the electronic components.
The electronic portion of the system consists of an airflow sensor position indicator, electro-hydraulic actuator, thermo time switch, coolant temperature sensor, electronic control unit (ECU), transistorized ignition switching unit, microswitch, throttle valve switch, altitude correction indicator, lambda control and oxygen sensor.
