Electronic Idle Speed Test
- Connect test cable of Bosch Tester (KDJE P 600) to idle speed air valve. Push IR 100% button. Engine at idle and operating temperature. Reading should be 27-29% at approx. 750 RPM. If okay, end of test. If not okay, go to step 2).
- If reading is higher or lower, adjust to nominal value or test microswitch. If reading is 0, test voltage on plug for idle speed air valve. Use pin socket 2 to ground, should read approx. 12 volts. If reading is okay, go to step 3). If reading is not okay, repair short in circuit.
- Test resistance on idle speed air valve. Terminal 2 and 3 should read approximately 12 ohms. Terminal 2 and 1 should read approximately 12 ohms. If not okay, replace idle speed air valve. If okay, test is finished.
NOTE:
This test is the same for checking idle speed stabilization on vehicles equipped with air conditioning.
