Glow Start Switch Valve

The glow start swtich valve is used only on 5-cylinder engines. Glow start switch valve is mounted on ignition switch. The glow start switch valve is an electrical solenoid which controls a vacuum signal to the injection pump to shut the engine off when ignition switch is turned to off position.

When ignition switch is turned to off position, the normally energized closed solenoid is opened when ignition is turned off. This allows vacuum to operate a diaphragm on the injection pump moving control rod on injection pump to the stop position. The control rod on injection pump controls fuel flow.
