Fuel Pump
- Current Consumption - On C class, CLK class and E class, go to next step. On ML320, go to step 3 .
- On C class, CLK class and E class, disconnect fuel pump relay (K27). On C class and CLK class, fuel pump relay is located in trunk, near battery. On E class, fuel pump relay is located under rear seat. On all models, connect a ammeter between relay sockets No. 2 and 8. Turn ignition on. Amperage should be 4-9 amps. If amperage is within specification, test is complete. If amperage is not within specification, possible cause is fuel pump defective. Repair as necessary.
- On ML320, disconnect fuel pump relay (K3). Fuel pump relay is located in fuse and relay module (F1), in left rear corner of engine compartment. Connect a ammeter between relay sockets No. 2 and 8. Turn ignition on. Amperage should be 4-9 amps. If amperage is within specification, test is complete. If amperage is not within specification, possible cause is fuel pump defective.
