Disassembling and assembling floor shift - AR27.60-P-0920B: Notes

TRANSMISSION 722.60 /610 /611 /612 /613 /62 /630 /631 /66 (except, 722.626 /628) 

Not with one-touch shift

Modification notes

1.7.97 Remove sleeve Step 14a, included for first time  
DISASSEMBLINGASSEMBLING Disassembly, assembly    
1 Remove selector lever handle (108)   AR27.60-P-0920-01A 
2 Unclip trim (109) (arrows)    
3 Unclip cover (110) (arrows)    
4 Unscrew bolt (111) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA27.60-P-1003-02A 
5 Move selector lever (112) into position "D"    
6 Unclip upper section of bearing bracket (113) (arrows)    
7 Pull carrier (129) out of upper section of bearing bracket and remove sliding cover (130)    
8 Take off gear display (114)    
9 Disconnect gear identification switch (S16/10) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Move selector lever into position "1"
In the installed position of the transmission range recognition switch relative to shift shaft, driver (115) must be positioned at the rear in direction of travel (arrow).		  
10 Take off shift shaft (116) complete with intermediate lever (97) and bracket with shift lock (117) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Insert components only pre-assembled into bottom part of bearing bracket (113a) and grease bearing points. *BR00.45-Z-1001-06A 
11 Pull shift shafts (116) out of bracket with shift lock    
12 Detach selector lever with clevis (112a) by removing retainer (112b) and pulling out pin (112c) IMPORTANT Spring (112d) may jump out.  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Selector lever brazed Transmission 722.6 as of 01.05.96 BT27.60-P-0002-01A 
13 Unbolt shift detent (120) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Grease ball. *BR00.45-Z-1001-06A 
14 Remove bearing bush on left (122); take pin (127) out of shift shaft with a press for this step INSPECT Inspect bearing bush for wear, replace if necessary.  
15 Separate shift shaft (116) with idler lever (97) from sleeve (137) by removing pin (127) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Grease pin lightly before installing it in the shift shaft.  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Center shift modified BT27.60-P-0001-01A 
16 Remove right bearing bush (121) from bracket INSPECT Inspect bearing bush for wear, replace if necessary.  
17 Take off supporting lever (119); release spring (118) and take off circlip (119a) for this step    
18 Take shift gate (128) off bottom part of bearing bracket; unscrew hexagon socket bolts (123) for this step TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA27.60-P-1002-02A 
19 Reassemble in opposite order    
20 Set play at shift lock SPECIAL TOOL AR27.60-P-0910A
