Test 15: Anti-Tow Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 and 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect anti-tow sensor connector. Measure voltage between anti-tow sensor connector terminal No. 2 and 5. See Fig 1. Activate anti-theft system. Battery voltage should exist. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  2. Using a jumper wire, bridge terminals No. 1 and 5 of anti-tow sensor connector. Alarm should trigger, alarm horn sounds and lights should flash. If alarm system operates as specified, replace anti-tow sensor. If alarm system does not operate as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, replace Pneumatic System Equipment (PSE) control module. See PSE CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
