ME-SFI ignition ON, function - GF07.61-P-3005AMG
ENGINE 156.980 in MODEL 164, 251 up to Model Year 8
ENGINE 156.982 in MODEL 209
ENGINE 156.983 in MODEL 211, 219
ENGINE 156.984 in MODEL 216, 221 up to Model Year 8
Functions in the case of ignition ON:
- The fuel injection and ignition system (in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit) is supplied with voltage via the engine circuit 87 relay.
- The fuel pump(s) is/are only actuated for about 2 s. for full running security (only for first time for "ignition ON").
- The engine diagnosis indicator lamp or CHECK ENGINE lights up in the instrument cluster (lamp check).
- Data exchange with the EIS [EZS] control unit (terminal 50 signal and drive authorization system) takes place via the CAN data bus.
- The fault memory can be read out and erased via the data link connector.
- Correction programming or diagnosis can be undertaken using STAR DIAGNOSIS via the data link connector.
- Throttle valve actuators check their return springs (via the position of the throttle valve) and perform an actuator adaptation if necessary.
