Tire Pressure Monitor System Reactivation
CAUTION:
The warning system can only operate in a reliable manner if correct tire pressures are set. If an incorrect tire inflation pressure is set, the system will monitor the pressure according to the incorrect value.
NOTE:
Tire pressure should only be adjusted on cold tires. Observe the recommended tire inflation pressure on the placard on the driver's door "B" pillar (some models may have supplemental inflation information on the fuel filler flap).
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Ensure inflation pressure of all 4 tires is set to specification.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine may be on or off). The standard display menu will appear in multifunction display on instrument cluster (shows information such as outside temperature, and trip and main odometers).
- Press system select button to scroll forward or back (button located on left side of button on left side multifunction steering wheel) until SERVICE menu is highlighted.
- Scroll to, and select, TIRE PRESSURE.
- Press OK.
- Press scroll button. The message "Adopt current pressures as new guideline values" should appear in the multifunction display.
- Press OK.
- After driving a few minutes, the system verifies that the current tire inflation pressures are within the system's specified range. Afterwards, the current tire inflation pressures are accepted as reference pressures and then monitored.
