CAUSE / EXPLANATION

EHS number is lost after installing the VGS repair kit:

Before performing the following steps, Disconnect the ESP control unit to reduce traffic on CAN C.

Plug in the old VGS (conductor plate). Process the fault code as before, follow the steps as instructed on the SDS. Once the new VGS is installed you will receive a lot of communication errors (skip through all these). When prompted to personalize unit and teach-in range selection sensor, answer no to both questions. Press F2 to get back to the start of loading the data into the new VGS You will now be asked to confirm the VIN entry. Once the VIN is sync'd, you will then be prompted for the EHS number. The EHS number to be entered can be obtained through EPC or from DTS. After this is entered the rest of the procedure will complete.

CORRECTION

EHS number is lost after replacing the Valve Body:

Manually enter the EHS no. via the following path in SDS: ETC > Control unit Adaptations > Correction Programming > Enter the EHS number and confirm.

The EHS number to be entered will be located on the side of the EHS .
