Update Audio 20 Control Module Software

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on the affected vehicles the Audio 20 software does not correspond to current series production. When saving the 26th HD radio station logo, the head unit begins a reset loop. To remedy this situation, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the software at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Approximately 22,156 vehicles are affected.

PROCEDURE

NOTE:

Use DAS/Xentry 09-10-11/15 with all associated patches or higher.
Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.
Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).
Ensure all electrical consumers are switched-off.

Refer to Star Diagnosis System (SDS) Best Practices Guide.

Update Audio 20 control module software: Control units view -> Information and communication -> Audio -> Audio or COMAND -> Adaptations -> Control unit update -> Update of control unit software.
Follow on-screen instructions.
NOTE: The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
