MODEL 218 with CODE 409 (Left/right front multicontour seat)
For vehicles with code (494) USA version only the driver seat is a multicontour seat.
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15 or circuit 15R ON
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 via the interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit.
Multicontour seat, general
The contour and surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion of the driver and front passenger seat can be changed individually. This is done by air cushions that can be inflated independently of each other.
The air cushions are installed in the following areas:
- Lower lumbar area
- Upper lumbar area
- In the side bolsters of the backrest
- Front area of seat cushion (seat cushion length)
Function sequence for multicontour seat
The adjustment of the contour and surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion of the driver or front passenger seat is performed by inflating and deflating the respective air cushion.
By switching on circuit 15R or circuit 15, the multicontour seat pneumatic pump is supplied with voltage. The multicontour seat pneumatic pump ensures the compressed air supply for inflating the individual air cushions. The inflating and deflating of the air cushions is performed by turning the regulation valves that are arranged on the multicontour seat regulation valve block on the side at the seat cushion.
If the maximum pressure is reached in the air cushion when inflating, the multicontour seat pneumatic pump switches itself off.
