Update SRS Control Module Software

Daimler AG ('DAG'), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain E-Class vehicles (213 platform) in the US, the parameter setting for the airbag control module might prevent the vehicles from being in compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208 (Occupant Crash Protection). An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the airbag control module on the affected vehicles.

Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 65 vehicles are involved.

PROCEDURE

NOTE:

Use DAS/Xentry 03-04/17 with all associated patches or higher.
Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.
Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).
Ensure all electrical consumers are switched-off.

Update software for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module: Control units view Body SRS Supplemental Restraint System Adaptations Control unit update Control unit commissioning Commissioning of already installed control unit.
Follow on-screen instructions.

NOTE: The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
