DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Clamp off ground line of on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003RG

2 Remove bottom Engine compartment lining. Engine 178 in model 190.381 AR61.20-P-1105RGB
    Engine 178 in model 190 (except 190.381) AR61.20-P-1105RG
3 Remove the front-right underfloor paneling. Engine 178 in model 190.381 AR61.30-P-1001RG
4 Remove terminal 50 electric line (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, connection for terminal designation 50 *BA15.30-P-1003-01T 
5 Remove contact protection of terminal 30 electric line (4).    
6 Remove electric line circuit 30 (4) from starter (M1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, connection for terminal designation 30 *BA15.30-P-1004-01T 
7 Unclip electric line, terminal 30 (4) at retaining clamp (3).    
8 Remove heat shield from transmission. Engine 178 in model 190.381  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6x1 *BA00.10-P-1002-03A 
9 Remove screws (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/nut, starter to crankcase and transmission *BA15.30-P-1001-01T 
10 Remove starter (M1) downward.    
11 Check ring gear on drive plate for wear and damage. IMPORTANT Rotate Engine at center Bolt, crankshaft in the direction of Engine rotation.  
    If there is a problem,

Replace drive plate.		 AR03.30-P-8001MNA
12 Install in the reverse order.
