Preliminary Checks

Visually check fuel system for leaks. Repair if necessary. Inspect the air intake system for leaks or restrictions. Correct any defects. Also, check exhaust system for kinks or restriction which may affect engine performance.

Inspect injector inlet lines for kinks or restrictions. Check accelerator linkage adjustment and injection pump timing. See ADJUSTMENTS  in this article. Check engine idle speed. See appropriate article in TUNE-UP section.
