Dropping Resistor

  1. Disconnect dropping resistor from wiring harness. Dropping resistor is located in air intake at engine manifold. Connect test lamp between dropping resistor input terminal on wiring harness and ground. Turn ignition to "RUN".
  2. If lamp does not light, check harness between No. 2 relay and dropping resistor. If lamp lights, go to step 3).
  3. Connect an ohmmeter to the connector terminals on the resistor. If reading is less than 1 ohm, dropping resistor is OK. If not, replace resistor.
