Spray Pattern

Operate test pump in smooth, even strokes and observe pattern of spray from tip of injector. Only the 1st 3" (76 mm) of spray from injector is important. Spray should be finely atomized in an even, straight pattern. See Fig 1 .

If spray pattern is incorrect, clean injector and repeat test. See Overhaul in this article. After testing, disassemble injectors and clean in a decarbonizing solution or sonic bath.
