Speed Control Cable
NOTE:
Ensure the speed control cable is not twisted or kinked. Replace the speed control cable if necessary. See SPEED CONTROL CABLE
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Do not pull excessively on the speed control cable during adjustments.
- Confirm that the accelerator cable is properly adjusted. See ACCELERATOR CABLE .
- Turn the adjusting nut until the throttle is in the fully closed position and the adjusting nut is against the speed control/accelerator bracket. See Fig 1 .
- Turn the adjusting nut 0.5 to 1 turn counterclockwise.
- Tighten the speed control cable locknut securely.
- Test the speed control system for proper operation. See ROAD TEST INSPECTION under TROUBLESHOOTING.
