Front Wiper Motor Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug wiper motor connector. Using fused jumper wire, apply 12 volts to terminal No. 2 of wiper motor. See Fig 1 . Motor should run at low speed.
  2. Disconnect jumper wire, then apply 12 volts to terminal No. 1 of wiper motor. Motor should run at high speed.
  3. Measure resistance between motor terminals No. 3 and 4. With motor in park position, resistance should be less than 5 ohms. With motor in any but park position, resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms. Replace motor if it does not perform as specified.

  4. Inspect WIPER fuse in interior fuse block and replace if necessary. Perform FRONT INTERVAL WIPE MODULE TEST. If wiper/washer switch and interval module are operating properly, unplug wiper motor connector. Turn ignition on. Set wiper/washer switch to HIGH position. Measure voltage at Blue/Red and Blue wires at wiper motor harness connector.
  5. If battery voltage does not exist, inspect Blue/Red or Blue wire for open circuit. If battery voltage exists, Inspect Black ground wire at wiper motor harness connector for an open circuit. Repair as necessary. If Black ground wire is okay, replace wiper motor.
